Santiago Ramon y Cajal monument

A big monument to the memory of the Nobel Prize Santiago Ramon y Cajal can be seen in the Parque del Buen Retiro in Paseo de Venezuela, Madrid.
It was crafted by the sculptor Victorio Macho in 1926. Made of bronze and granite, it is renowned as one of the most beautiful Spanish monuments of the twentieth century.1
On the pedestal, you can read only this single word: CAJAL.
