Statue of Zeus with the head of Asclepius
This marble statue of Zeus with the head of Asclepius can be seen in the Galleria Archeologica of Musei Reali in Turin.
The statue underwent several integrative restorations before and after its arrival in Turin.
The head is not pertinent to the body: the corona tortilis, a tiara composed of a wide bandage wrapped around itself and rolled in regular loops, allows us to recognize in it an Asclepius inspired by Greek models from the 4th century BC.
