The Physicians Square

In the "Famedio" (Hall of Fame) of the Monumental Cemetery of Milan, the central "square" portion of the entrance wall is dedicated to the memory of notable physicians in the history of the town.

As in the rest of the "Famedio", there are simple enrolments for the deserving people ("benemeriti") and relief sculpted profiles for the eminent ones ("illustri")1.

Among the first, are remebered the names of Sebastiano Cera (or Gera), Giovanmaria Bicetti de' Buttinoni2., Gaetano Strambio e Giuseppe De Cristoforis. Among the second can be seen the profiles of Luigi Sacco, Enrico Acerbi, Pietro Moscati, Giovan Battista Palletta and Giovan Battista Monteggia.
