Uterus in 9th month of pregnancy with twins (terracotta)

This beautiful cold painted terracotta of an uterus with twins at the 9th month of pregnancy can be seen in the obstetrics collection of the Science and Art Museums of Palazzo Poggi in the University of Bologna (via Zamboni 33). The terracotta dates back to mid 18th Century and represents the uterus with monochorial (single) placenta and two amniotic sacs.
